LIZZY BORDEN's Guitar Search Continues
July 30, 2003LIZZY BORDEN have commenced the recording process for their eighth album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Metal Blade Records. The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2000's critically acclaimed "Deal with the Devil" will reportedly be "a straight-ahead, balls-out high-energy hard rock album."
The band, who parted ways with guitarist Alex Nelson earlier in the year, are still searching for a replacement. The response to the initial notice was overwhelming, and Lizzy reviewed each and every entry himself.
"There has been some very well-known guitarists who sent in their stuff as well as some soon-to-be-known gems," the singer said in a press release. "I want to thank all of the players who sent in packages. Most of you we're amazing! But at this point the slot has NOT been filled. I'm looking for more of a ROCK guitarist rather then a shredder. Someone that would be comfortable screeching out AC/DC-type riffs or some old AEROSMITH or even some early KISS! That's the kind of player that would fit in well with the style of the new record." Lizzy also added that fans will be happy with the latest LIZZY BORDEN offering. "The sound of the new material is fresh but it doesn't forget where the music started. You're gonna love it!"
